Sana Natural Resource Essence Milk

SANA Natural Resource Essence Milk

Sana Natural Resource Essence MilkI’ve been using Sana’s Natural Resource Essence Milk for a while now and finally am almost finished! It’s lasted over 3 months and I really enjoyed using it the whole time. Sana’s Essence Milk is made with minimal skin irritants and uses a combination of 100% naturally derived ingredients that will work to moisturize your skin. Sana pride’s itself in not using ingredients that will possible irritate the skin and in my opinion they did well!

My Experience

This essence milk didn’t irritate my skin at all from the beginning! It has a nice consistency and to my surprise blends pretty well with other products. Sana’s Natural Resource Essence Milk can be a little sticky but easily absorbs into the skin especially after using a toner product. It also helps keep your skin really soft and I think can probably be used without a moisturizer after.

I was surprised at how long this essence lasted. Depending on the person I think it can even last up to 6 months if used conservatively! At around $13 it’s well worth the price if you have sensitive and dry skin. If I didn’t want to try a different essence product I would definitely purchase this one again! In fact, I would even be willing to gift it along with a refill pack for a great skin care product.

Where to Buy

Unfortunately you can’t find this product on Amazon. If you’re lucky they might sell it at Asian or Japanese Markets but in general the best place to buy it will be in Japan. If you happen to be in Japan you can find it at more major drug stores or cosmetic stores for around $13~16. Also, I recommend buying a refill pack because you’ll want to use it again!

Lululun Plus Smooth Gold

Review – Lululun Plus Smooth Gold

The Lululun Plus Sheet Mask series is basically a premium line of sheet masks to use once a week. They have a variety of sheet masks and for this week I decided to try their Smooth Gold one!

Based on the back of the package this mask is “made from a rare silk that glistens a bright gold color. This essence sheet mask is great for moisturizing aged skin.
With the wonderful combination of Japanese Sake essence and Hydrolysis, even the most parched skins will be deeply moisturized.” (translation by me).

My Experience

For some reason, I love that the Lululun Plus Masks are a little thicker than the normal sheet mask. Their Smooth Gold one is no different and after opening the package you could already tell how much moisture was held with in! In fact, some of the essence of the mask began to drip off. Compared with other Sheet Mask makers, the Lululun series tends to be a little smaller. It fit on my face nicely and I pretty much felt a blast of moisturizer from the moment I put it on.

After a few minutes, I felt a little tingling on my upper lip area but it wasn’t enough for me to take off the mask before the full 10 minute mark. After taking off the mask (and using some of the extra essence around my neck and hands) I was surprised at how bright my skin was. It was almost radiantly glowing! AND there was no redness from the tingling which was a happy surprise for me. It definitely was worth the 10 minute wait. The Smooth Gold Sheet Mask is a definite winner from the Lululun Plus line. If you can get your hands on it, I highly recommend trying it.

Where to Buy

Unfortunately, unless you’re in Japan it’s hard to find this Sheet Mask in the states. However, if you are in Japan stores like Tokyuu Hands or Loft have it readily available in their cosmetics section. It’s about $2/sheet mask but well worth the price. If you’re in Japan during the Holiday Season, they also have gift sets available for a little cheaper.

Belif Problem Solution Toner

Review – Belif Problem Solution Toner

Belif Problem Solution TonerBelif’s Problem Solution Toner is great for oily and sensitive skin. This toner has a transparent watery texture and is formulated with great ingredients to minimize pores and reduce breakouts. It disinfects, balances and renews skin. On the bottle it states a lot of things it isn’t made with. It’s not made with Synthetic Fragrences or Dyes, not made with Animal Origin Ingredients, among others! In general, it’s very safe for all types of skins and smells great.

My Experience

Belif’s Problem Solution Toner is the second toner I’ve tried since starting the 10-step skin care routine and so far it’s working great! I love the feel of it when applied to my face with a cotton swab. While it’s not bad to apply the toner directly with my hands, I prefer the cotton swab after trying both… I feel like I’m not wasting as much that way. To be honest, I felt it was a little expensive when I first bought it but it’s already lasted over 2 months so it is definitely worth the price!

It doesn’t damage the skin, rather it’s very gentle and really helps to reduce redness in my complexion. I can tell, because on the days I’m lazy I tend to have a slight redness that always makes me look shy. I generally don’t have breakouts, but according to other reviews on this product it appears that it helps a lot at preventative work. For the minimal amount I do have (usually around that time of the month) I have noticed the pimples aren’t quite as bad.

Considering this is only the second toner I’ve tried, it’s hard to compare it with others. I definitely would purchase this again. It’s very safe and does it’s job. If you’re looking for a toner for sensitive skin this one is definitely worth trying.

Where to Buy

I recommend buying Belif’s Problem Solution Toner from Sephora. At this moment, it’s cheaper than Amazon and their rewards program is worth signing up for! If you’re on the cheap side, wait until their sale season and purchase it then.

Anessa Perfect Essence UV Spray

Review – Shiseido Anessa Spray UV Suncreen

Anessa Perfect Essence UV SprayI’m not a huge fan of spray sunscreen but I fell in love with Shiseido’s Anessa UV Spray! It was often advertised on TV as a spray you can easily spray on over your hair (my scalp is super pale) and over your face with makeup. The commercial basically worked at convincing me to buy it.

My Experience

This spray is very light and easy to use. I generally don’t like wearing sunscreen because of the smell, but Shiseido’s Anessa UV Spray doesn’t have a bad smell which is a huge plus for me! I use this spray a lot over my hair (for my scalp) and I have yet to get a sunburn when using it. I also will spray it over my neck and on my ears. I really like the fact that it can easily be applied to ears and protects them well. I usually use this spray along with standard sunscreen for body/face depending on how sunny it is outside.

The one downside to this spray is it’s expensive. On Amazon in the US it’s about $50/can and even it’s Japan it’s about $30/can (not much cheaper). I really enjoyed using it but for me it’s too expensive to use normally. I plan on finding a different spray to use for the same purpose. If you have money to spend, I would definitely recommend this UV spray but if you’re more on the cheap side, try something else.

Where To Buy

Amazon sells the newer version of Shiseido’s Anessa UV Spray for around $50.

Lululun Rich Moisture Face Mask

Review – Lululun Face Mask Blue Rich Moisture

Lululun Rich Moisture Face MaskAfter trying the Lululun Plus series, I thought I should go back and try their most standard face mask as well. In Japan, these masks are everywhere and in general are very affordable. The aim of this particular mask (compared to the pink and white one) is it’s here to moisturize your face! It also has ingredients to brighten your face so overall it’s a pretty good sheet mask choice.

My Experience

Compared to the other sheet masks I’ve tried this ones size is a little smaller. I have a pretty small head and this is a huge plus, except for the fact that the eye placement and mouth placement is a little off. I could just have a weird face shape too…

Anyways, the mask itself works great considering the price (less than 100yen/mask). It really does moisturize the face and can be used in place of your normal moisturizer. It does brighten the skin and definitely gives your skin a glowing and refreshing feeling.

When I used Lululun Plus’ Aroma Oil Mask I felt a bit of a tingling sensation on my skin. However, with this mask I had no problem at all. It didn’t irritate my skin one bit! Which means for those with sensitive skin this is definitely a sheet mask to try and add to your regime if it works for you. I definitely would recommend this mask to everyone and would even give it as a gift.

Lululun Blue Rich Moisture

Where To Buy

Amazon is probable the easiest place to buy Lululun masks outside of Japan. The price isn’t as cheap as Japan but it’s still very reasonable compared to other sheet mask options. For everyday use, I think it’s very affordable. The average price is $20~30 for 32 pieces depending on the seller.

If you’re fortunate enough to live near a Japanese market/shopping area you can also easily find them there. Though, it may tend to be a little more expensive than Amazon.

FAB Ultra Repair Serum

Review – FAB Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum

FAB Ultra Repair SerumFAB is still one of my favorite American Skin Care brands! Their products are always great for sensitive skin, not too expensive, and usually do great at keeping my skin hydrated. This particular Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum is made to infuse the skin with optimal hydration to plump and minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It has powerful ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid, Collagen, and Aloe Leaf Juice. It’s great for sensitive skin and can be used both in the AM and PM.

My Experience

This Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum pretty much just hydrated my skin and didn’t do much repair. I noticed even on the days I didn’t use this serum the redness in my face would be reduced just the same. As far as the hydration aspect, this serum is good. It really does help to keep your face hydrated and can be used alone if needed.

Considering the price and size, this bottle will last me about 2 months (it’s almost gone!) but if you use it twice daily it may be a little less. One thing I also noticed was it doesn’t mix well with other creams when still wet. You really have to wait until it fully dries before applying anything else which for people in a hurry isn’t such a good thing. I usually have to wait 5~10 minutes depending on how the temperature is in my house. I would prefer something that doesn’t take as long to be absorbed in the skin.

While this isn’t my first choice for a serum, I still would recommend it to people with sensitive skin. It really does help to keep the skin hydrated without any worries of skin irritation. It’s a little expensive ($36 for a 1oz bottle) but I think it’s worth the price.

FAB Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum

Where to buy

FAB’s Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum can easily be found at any Sephora Website or directly at FAB’s Online store for $36 per 1oz bottle. If you’re not sure if you would like to buy this product, I recommend requesting a sample from Sephora in stores to try it out.

Kiehl's Aromatic Blends: Patchouli & Fresh Rose

Review – Kiehl’s Aromatic Blend: Patchouli & Fresh Rose

Kiehl's Aromatic Blends: Patchouli & Fresh RoseI love Kiehl’s products and as part of my effort to try them all (one day) I tried their aromatic Aromatic Blend body wash Patchouli and Fresh Rose. This Aromatic Blend series had a few different scents but after looking at the Kiehl’s website it appears they have discontinued this series. It can still be found in Japan but in general it’s hard to find at the moment.

My Experience

At the moment, I’m still using this body wash but I am really looking forward to using it up and changing it! The smell of this body wash isn’t bad but for me it’s a little bit too aromatic. If you have asthma, I can see you having trouble breathing with this body wash so please be careful.

As far as the effectiveness of this body wash I would give it about 50%! After using it, your body doesn’t feel clean. It doesn’t dry out your skin but it doesn’t really make it feel nice either. The thing that bothered me most is it doesn’t lather well into bubble. For me, this is very important because I use an exfoliating wash cloth. Another thing that was a major mark against the wash was it froze… During the one cold day in November (about 5 degrees Celsius) everything in our shower room was perfectly fine. Except. Well… Except the Kiehl’s Aromatic Blend Body wash! It wasn’t completely frozen but it definitely had trouble coming out of the bottle. It’s something that when you’re tired, you definitely don’t want to deal with but the next day (when it was warmer) there were no problems.

Would I recommend this? No, I don’t think the Kiehl’s body wash line is worth trying at this point. Considering they took most of the Aromatic Blend washes off their website, I think it says something as well.

Where to Find

At this point, I can only find it in Japanese stores.

Aveeno Ultra Calming Foaming Cleanser

Review – Aveeno Ultra Calming Foaming Cleanser

aveenoultracalmingcleanserAveeno is one of my favorite reasonably priced skin care brands. Not only are their products fairly cheap to buy but they’re easy to find and work great on sensitive skin. A lot of dermatologists also seem to recommend this brand to patients with eczema which is a huge plus in my book!

My Experience

When used in addition to other skin care items this facial cleanser is powerful but not overwhelming. I like it mainly because it’s light and you don’t need too much in order to get the job done. On average, each bottle lasts me about one to two months and if you’re cheap you can push out a few extra days as well.

As far as the actual results, it doesn’t dry out your skin nor does it leave it feeling tight. It has a very slight fragrance but it doesn’t bother my skin at all and it really ends up being calming especially when massaged into the face. One thing to note is it’s not a makeup remover face wash. In my experence, it can remove makeup to a certain extent by itself but definitely not as well as designated makeup removers.

When I first started using this face wash it definitely helped reduce the redness in my face and helped a bit with the breakouts. However, after using it continuously back-to-back I noticed the effects weren’t as great and I begin to alternate using this with other face washes as well. If you’re looking for an all-in-one face wash this one isn’t the best. However, I definitely recommend this face wash as all of the Aveeno products to people with sensitive skin.

Aveeno Ultra Calming Foaming Cleanser

Where to Find

This face wash usually runs for about $5~8 depending on where you purchase it. I usually bought it from Target because they often had deals with gift cards or in general tended to be cheaper than Amazon.
